Gardner Engineering Ltd acknowledges its obligations under the European Union Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

Scope of Activities

Gardner Engineering Ltd operates as a manufacturer of engineered components and assemblies. In carrying out these activities, we utilise materials including, but not limited to:

  • Mild Steel
  • Stainless Steel
  • Powder Coatings
  • Chrome Plating

Role Under REACH

Gardner Engineering Ltd does not manufacture chemical substances nor formulations covered under REACH. We do not import substances directly in quantities that would require registration.

Accordingly, Gardner Engineering Ltd is classified as a downstream user under the REACH Regulation.

Supplier Responsibility

We rely on our suppliers to ensure that all substances and preparations supplied to Gardner Engineering Ltd are:

  • Registered in accordance with REACH where required
  • Supplied with appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Compliant with all applicable restrictions and authorisation requirements

We actively communicate with our supply chain to ensure continued compliance and expect our suppliers to fulfil their REACH obligations.

Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

Gardner Engineering Ltd does not intentionally add or incorporate Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) as defined by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) above the threshold of 0.1% weight by weight in our products, unless otherwise declared.

Where applicable, we will provide relevant information to our customers in accordance with Article 33 of REACH.

Use of Coatings and Treatments

Processes such as powder coating and chrome plating applied to our products are carried out either in-house or through approved subcontractors. In all cases:

  • These processes are conducted using materials sourced from REACH-compliant suppliers
  • Subcontractors are required to confirm their own REACH compliance
